Virtually all of the issues pertaining to the electrical requirements and components of the Zetec motor were dealt with in The Junk Yard Zetec Project. These included, among other electrics things, discussions relating to wiring, sensors, the ECU and the alternator.
One of the things that wasn’t covered was the placement of the alternator’s regulator because that was more of a chassis item.
This placement will probably vary from chassis to chassis. For this RF94, it seemed appropriate to fasten the regulator to the upper portion of the forward engine bay bulkhead. It would be somewhat removed from engine heat in that position, and from that location the wiring routing from the regulator to the alternator would be relatively straightforward.
